Traditional Colombian backpacks made by the Arhuaco people, located primarily in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and in various areas of the Cesar and Magdalena departments. These backpacks are 100% handmade, using sheep's wool and, in some cases, natural fibers. They are distinguished by their anthropomorphic (animal figures with human characteristics and qualities), zoomorphic (figures with animal shapes or structures), and physiomorphic (figures with plant or vegetable shapes) designs. Most of these pieces are made in earth tones, and they also represent the Arhuaco people's thoughts and feelings.Watch now
The bags are the ultimate expression of Wayuu weaving, from the indigenous group located on the Guajira Peninsula. Easily recognizable by their vibrant colors and designs, they are 100% handmade from wild cotton or crochet thread, and each piece can take approximately 20 days to complete. The traditional motifs of Wayuu weaving are the kaanas, the most authentic expression of how the Wayuu interpret and represent the elements of the material world around them and their daily lives, creating figures full of symbolism. These geometric compositions are repeated in all their weavings, each of which receives a name that expresses their thoughts.Watch now
